You are victim blaming. Victims can't stop thinking about themselves as victims until they are no longer victimized. The people doing the victimizing need to stop victimizing first. I don't think it was them wanting to exploit her or utilize her stature, also I don't think they where playing the victimized role here seeing as how they truly are oppressed and discriminated against.
